2016-2017
Working for Lisa Bartlett in the Student Auxiliary Marketing Department has given me more opportunities than ever before. I've done everything from filming people upside down to being in the thick of the forest for a fake camping shoot. This job always offers new experiences, and its been great to explore what captures an audience's attention.
Your Guide to the University Unions
Your Guide to the University Unions, Summer 2016
This was the very first project I was given when I began to work in the Union, and little did I know it would become my largest. Heading a team of two more videographers and a graphic designer, I was in charge of reworking a script, finding talent, and making sure we met deadlines. Additionally, I was to edit and animate the video, which was definitely a process. Looking back now I'm so grateful for getting the opportunity to lead this video, as it gave me a chance to get myself familiar with Adobe After Effects and Illustrator, a chance that I know I wouldn't have gotten if I had worked elsewhere. Though this video took most of the summer to complete and had to be balanced along with other projects, I'm very proud of how it turned out and hope it helped some freshman!
University of Michigan Rec Sports: Outdoor Adventures
Outdoor Adventures, Summer 2016
For this campaign I assisted my coworker, Marissa, in shooting and writing a voiceover for Michigan's Rec Sport campaign. It was the perfect day to shoot and I think we were able to get some great footage of our actors "camping" in "the wild." This video was a super collaborative effort, especially when it came down to the short narrative we needed to fit the topic. It also helped that Marissa did a great job editing the footage together.

University Unions Year in Review
Summer/Fall 2016
This UU Year in Review video was brought to us as a brand new idea for the department. In years prior, the overview of the year was usually laid out in a magazine-like format, however, this year they wanted to try something new. We took the challenge head on, thinking of ways we could encompass all that had happened in the Union over the last school year. Finally, we decided on going with the Union's old theme of "Through these Doors," and from there things were in turbo mode. I worked alongside my coworkers Marissa and Ellen to come up with intriguing ways we could hold onto our viewers' attention for a video that would be longer than 5 minutes. We scoured the web for After Effects tutorials and utilized those to add some flair. We also lent our voices to some of the voiceovers in the video. Sadly, once the school year began we lost Marissa and Ellen to study abroad programs and other jobs, so it was my duty to put the video together, make the necessary changes, and tie up any loose ends before sending it off. To my surprise, four months later I received an email from my boss congratulating us on winning second place in the Association of College Unions International's "Steal This Idea" design and video competition! It was great to see that a video we worked hard on got recognized in some way, and it was even better to see that our boss had enough faith in us that she submitted our video.
